The Town of Deerfield, Massachusetts invites quotes from responsive and responsible bidders
for furnishing and installation of a precast concrete tree filter structure in accordance with the
documents prepared by The Berkshire Design Group. The location is the street in front of the
Deerfield Inn, 81 Old Main Street, Deerfield, MA 01342.
Bids (no sealed bid requirement) for the construction of the tree filter structure project are due
April 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM, and shall be electronically submitted to Mr. Jeff Squire, at the Berkshire
Design Group, at the following address: jeff@berkshiredesign.com.
The project generally consists of furnishing and installing a precast concrete tree filter structure,
granite curb installation, subdrain pipe connection to existing catch basin, planting of one tree in
the tree filter structure, pavement patching, and loaming and seeding of disturbed areas. The
Contractor shall keep the work area separated from the general public at all times by use of
temporary fencing. The Owner arranged ground penetrating radar site investigation at the site.
Results showed no major obstructions at the location of the tree filter structure. The report by
Feldman Geospatial is attached to this document.
The work is estimated to cost $44,000.00
A pre-bid conference is not scheduled, but bidders are encouraged to visit the site and view the
project location for themselves.
All bids shall be submitted on the Form For Bid, available by contacting Jeff Squire at jeff@berkshiredesign.com. Fill in the blanks
with typewriter or neat and legible hand writing. Fill in dollar amounts in words and numerals.
In case of discrepancy, the written amount shall govern.
The Owner shall award the project within two weeks of receipt of bids, if a responsive and
responsible bidder is chosen and it is deemed in their best interest to do so. Once the project is
awarded, the Contractor shall achieve substantial completion in 60 days (approximately mid-late June,
2024).
