SEALED BIDS for construction of
Carl Junction Project Rte. Z/Pennell St. Sidewalk Improvements Phase VI, TAP-9900(759), Carl Junction,
Missouri will be received by the City of Carl Junction, 303 N. Main Street, Carl Junction, Missouri 64834 until
1:30 p.m. prevailing local time May 14, 2024, and then publicly opened and read aloud at the City of Carl Junction,
303 N. Main Street, Carl Junction, Missouri 64834.
The proposed work includes: The addition of approximately 643 lineal feet of 5 foot wide concrete sidewalk,
including paved approaches, that will extend from where Phase V (TAP 9900(757)) left off at Dean Dr. and
continue southeast to Arlington Dr. along the north and east side of Route Z/Pennell St.
Complete digital project bidding documents are available at www.weareown.com You may download the digital
plan documents for a non-refundable fee of $55.00. The Quest project number is 9011339.
Paper copies of bidding documents may be obtained from the office of OWN, Inc. (formerly Anderson Engineering,
Inc.), 218 5th Street, Monett, Missouri 65708, (417) 236-0112 upon payment of a non-refundable amount of $175.00.
The successful bidder will be furnished three complete sets of plans and specifications. Additional sets will be sold
to the contractor at cost.

All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly
rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial
Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher.
The City of Carl Junction hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered
into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged
individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be
discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in
consideration for an award.
All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard
Specifications for Highway Construction, 2023 Edition, including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must
be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.
Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works projects provide a 10-Hour OSHA
construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to
be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.
The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The Owner reserves the right to waive
any informalities or minor defects or to reject any or all bids and to re-advertise and to rebid. All materials for the
project shall be tax exempt.
Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount of five percent (5%) of his/her base bid which is
subject to conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders.
The DBE Goal for this project is 6%.
No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days after the actual date of the opening
thereof.
