It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule.

Overview:

The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for an Iowa licensed Plumbing contractor to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the repair of a storm drain east of the IDOT Ames -Red Oak location as per the scope of work document on the Attachment tab. Work to include installation of approximately 200’ of 8” PVC storm line pipe and fittings. Existing piping is concrete on south and PVC on the north. Contractor to also supply and install a new fire hydrant on the south side of dig site (see site map on the Attachment tab).

All work to be coordinated with DOT to phase work where possible to minimize disruption to DOT functions. See Line Item Tab and Attachment Tab for details.

OSHA: Contractor to follow all OSHA standards for shoring, open trenches, safety of area. Locates to be done prior to work starting, private lines will be done by DOT.

All work to be completed during normal business hours 6:30am-4:00pm Mon- Fri. After hours are available with prior approval. This includes demo and all materials and debris is to be disposed of off site.
