Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: This New York City Transit Authority (“NYCT”) and MTA Bus Company (“MTA Bus”) currently have approximately 241 backflow prevention devices (i.e., reduced pressure zone (“RPZ”) and double check detector assemblies (DCDA) backflow prevention assemblies) The majority, 240, are in New York City and subject to New York City Department of Environmental Protection requirements and one (1) is in Westchester County and subject to Westchester County Department of Health requirements. These are either primary and secondary devises serving domestic water
supplies, fire protection supplies, bus washes, boilers, and other industrial water lines.
NYCT and MTA Bus require the services of a firm that will provide annual testing of the
devices as well as overhauls and replacements when directed by the Project Manager
(PM). All testing must be performance by qualified personnel who are trained and certified by the New York State Department of Health to test such devices. All overhauls and
replacement are to be performed by NYC licensed plumbers
