Notice is hereby given that the City of Kingston is seeking to retain two separate professional services under two separate contracts: 1) Structural Engineering Services firm and 2) Architectural/Civil Engineering Services firm. You may propose on one or the other, or both. Please separate the proposals and indicate clearly which professional service you are bidding on.

Sub-consultants, Subcontracting, and/or joint ventures are permitted.

The City of Kingston, New York is issuing a request for proposals (RFP) from qualified
independent firms to provide professional structural and architectural/civil engineering
services; you are invited to submit a proposal in accordance with the terms outlined in the RFP. Please separate the proposals and indicate clearly which professional service you are bidding on.

The City’s central fire station at 19 East O’Reilly Street is aging and in disrepair. We have
previously investigated a rehab of that facility, as such this request will not be addressing that building. We are currently investigating the efficacy of moving a portion of the Central
operation into an existing building across the street. The existing building has historically
never been a fire station and will need to be retrofitted to meet the new use as an essential facility. The city will rely on the consultant’s expertise in determining whether to purchase the subject building for conversion to a fire station. The City is considering acquisition of approximately 0.375 acres, including the building and bay apron area on East O’Reilly St, as depicted on our site plan (see Appendix D). Though not being solicited at this time, the City reserves the right to increase to scope of work of this RFP to include final design and construction administration.
