Description:

The Long Island State Veterans Home (Home) is soliciting proposals from qualified Contractors to provide custom built millwork consisting of bathroom vanities, Corian shelf inserts, clean utility room cabinetry, soiled room cabinetry, medical alcove cabinetry and nourishment station cabinetry for a major facility renovation project comprising of ten (10) individual Nursing Units. There will be ten (10) of each type of cabinetry required during the contract period (one type per Nursing Unit). The Home has three (3) floors with four (4) Nursing Units per floor with an A and B Unit on one side of the building and a C and D Unit on the other side of the building. Units A and C are of the same layout and Units B and D are of the same layout. Contractors are to include shop drawings and submittals as part of the deliverables. Project overall duration is anticipated to be approximately 4 to 5 years, with an estimated per unit completion time of four (4) months. The Home will require delivery as the individual unit is completed or on an as needed basis as the project progresses. The Home will require fabrication and delivery only. The Home will perform the installation of all types of cabinetry. The Home will not accept any additional stations than what is required for an individual Unit renovation. In compliance with the Procurement Lobbying Act signed into law by Governor Pataki in August, 2005, and effective January 1, 2006, permissible contact by an Offeror in relation to any specific procurement in excess of $15,000 should be made only with authorized personnel of the Home who are designated as the contact person(s) in the bid specifications. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage Minority (MBE) and Women-Owned Business (WBE) enterprise participation for this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to be in compliance with the Governors directive for increased participation of 30% (15% MBE, 15% WBE) and 6% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business. All bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy.
