USA Niagara on behalf of ESD purchased the property at 217 Old Falls Street and 333 First Street in March 2019 through a strategic land acquisition program intended to assemble and revive long-dormant properties located near Niagara Falls State Park. The program is a continuation of USA Niagara’s efforts to expand the types of uses in downtown and reestablish a year-round, sustainable neighborhood. The building to be demolished is a U-shaped, 85,423 square foot, two story pre-engineered steel and pre-cast concrete warehouse. The building was constructed in 1987, but has been vacant since 2017. It was previously used as a Native American themed complex featuring a gift shop, theater, buffet, coffee shop, a small graphics art studio and clothing manufacturing operation. Please note that the building surrounds the First Presbyterian Church and directly abuts it on one side. The Church is an historic structure on the national register of historic places and special care must be taken to ensure it is not damaged during the demolition.
