Contracted vendors may deliver their programming if aligned to FWAS program guidelines.
Campus Administration, staff and/ or Site-Based Decision Making Teams (SBDMT) will make contracted provider selection. Campus teams will self-identify if they have a desire to deliver programming through a contracted vendor.

Is there a differentiation within the program guidelines between a FWAS Supervisor, a FWAS Specialist, and a FWAS Teacher? Can you provide the descriptions or requirements for each position? Is it at the vendor’s discretion to implement a supervisor, specialist, or teacher at each campus? Do classes with FWISD students have to be supervised by FWISD Teachers? Are Specialists required to be certified teachers? If specialists do NOT have to be required to be FWISD Teachers, can they teach alone with students in a classroom? Can they be the supervisor over more than one site? Are they allowed to travel between sites on different days?

Each site must have employees who clearly fill defined roles included in the sample budget. It is recommended but not required for a program to utilize a teacher for Homework completion. No, each enrichment session may be delivered by provider staff. It is not mandated that teachers deliver all programming. No, Specialists are not required to be FWISD teachers. Yes, specialists can deliver programming on their own – all staff must pass Criminal Background Checks (CBC). Optimum programming would include a Site-Supervisor at each site at all times. Contracted providers often provide a Program Supervisor to oversee multiple sites.
