Sealed competitive bids for a Single Axle Class 6, 4x4 Body Build will be
received at the office of the Town Manager, 77 Main Street, Middlebury, VT
05753 until 11:00 AM, January 26, 2024.
The Town of Middlebury, VT reserves the right to waive any
informalities, reject any and all bids, or to accept any bid deemed to
be in the best interest of the Town.

The Town of Middlebury is seeking bids for a new Single Axle Class 6 4x4 Body Build, Bid #
20240105-2. The following specifications describe requirements for the quality and type of equipment
to be furnished. The intent of the detailed specifications is not to restrict manufacturers but to
give guidance to the town’s minimum requirements. Where the bid deviates from these minimum
specifications, bidder shall note the deviation in their bid:
SPECIFICATIONS
BODY/TRUCK:
• 10’ AR-450 steel side dump body with full remote lube kit
• Zinc primed, epoxy primed, and high temperature painted black in color
• Tailgate with air release
• ½ Cab shield
• Ladder, inner body step and gearbox step
• Bed chain shall contain bar flights every link for greater strength and more even material flow
• Shovel holder
• Hardwood sideboards
• Pintle plate with 20-ton hook and electrical plug and d-rings
• Color camera system with three feeds
• Hydraulic adjust discharge gate and spinner and hydraulic spinner reverse
• Poly chute
• Poly spinner
• Semi-auto tire chains
• Front & rear mud flaps
• Dot reflective tape
• LED cab Bar, cab shield (4), Corner posts (4 rear/2 side), and wing mounted strobe system
• LED heated corner mounted stop/tail/turns, LED heated backups, and LED heated markers
• LED, heated plow lights and fog lights
• 7 LED spotlights
• Body raised light
• Back up alarm
WING:
• 9’ Right hand mid mount steel wing
• HD full trip hydraulic arms
• Carbide and cover blades
• Moldboard shoes
PLOW:
• Snowplow package w/plow quick connect
• Power hook hitch w/wing mount operated from inside the cab
• All angle butterfly style steel dustpan
• Power tilt candy cane front plow hitch and front plow control
• Plow blade trip edge to be slotted compression spring type
• Tire chain holder on front plow frame
• Carbide and cover blades
• Plow to be fitted with frame shoes
• Rubber deflector
CONTROLS:
• Power-hook hitch with wing mount controls, operated from inside the cab
• Auxiliary hydraulic pup to be front mounted, high capacity/large volume with minimum 30-gallon
reservoir mounted behind cab with return line filter with shutoff
• Valves to be electric over hydraulic, load sharing, frame mounted in enclosure
• Spreader control to be Cirus EZ spread spreadsmart RDS (or approved equivalent) with SS
plumbing to front and rear of truck.
• Ped-mounted electronic joystick actuated implement controls
• Stainless steel hydraulic piping to the front and rear

BIDS SHALL INCLUDE:
• Manufacturers catalogs, operating manuals and specifications
• Detailed warranty coverages
• Build time and delivery schedule from date of order
Bids are due on January 26, 2024 by 11:00 am and must be in a sealed envelope, clearly marked
“Single Axle Class 6, 4x4 Body Build, Bid # 20240105-2”.
Bid will be awarded following review by committee and approval by Selectboard. Pricing for
Any Submitted Bid Must Be Guaranteed for 90 days from bid opening.

Price.
