1. Solicitation Due Date Change
a. Before 10:00AM (EST), Wednesday, April 17, 2024
2. Site Visit Required
a. After reviewing the questions submitted by multiple vendors, we have determined that a
site visit will be required to gather all the information needed to properly bid this project.
The due date has been extended to provide additional time to request and complete a site
visit prior bid submission.
b. Schedule at site visit by contacting David Kiblinger, Facilities Supervisor, via email
(kiblinger.david@fcboe.org).
3. Will we be able to drop off a dumpster at the various schools to dispose of the old fixtures?
a. Yes. Location of the dumpster must be approved by Mike Satterfield, Director of
Facilities Services, and the school administrator.
4. Are there any attic stock requirements on any of the fixtures? (2-5% of each fixture)
a. No, not at this time.
5. For the High Bay fixtures; are these being replaced in a gym or cafeteria area? Please confirm the
height of these fixtures and accessibility for a scissor lift.
a. The installation area for these lights will be at a height that will require lift equipment to
complete the installation. A site visit is required to determine the size of lift needed.
6. Please can you confirm that for the “LED 4’ 2/Lamps” Strip Lights, do you only require that the
tubes be replaced and not the entire fixture?
a. The fixtures and tube lighting are listed as two separate line items.
7. Do you have any electrical drawings that you can share? This will help determine the quantity of
Cat5 cable and plugs required for the switches per location.
a. We currently do not have electrical drawings for these projects available. A site visit will
be required to determine the Cat5 Cable needed for this project.
8. When quoting an LED tube option, are Type B or Type C tubes preferred by Fayette County?
a. ?
9. On the pricing sheet, should our “Extended Cost” include labor cost for fixture installation or is
this column for material only?
a. The extended cost column is for the materials only, there is a total cost line for each
project, which will include all materials, shipping, delivery, labor, and installation.
10. Can we bring a connex box onsite for material storage?
a. This type of request will need to be approved by Mike Satterfield, Director of Facilities
Services, and the school administrator. Approval will be determined by the availability of
space and any other ongoing projects at each site.
11. Regarding the LED 4' 2/lamp- Are you looking for the new fixtures with an integrated LED or
need a lamp ready fixture to put LED bulbs in?
a. These will need to be the fixtures that are lamp ready.
12. What is the completion deadline?
a. Projects will need to be completed prior to the start of the new school year, Monday,
August 5, 2024.
13. Do you know if this will be night work or summertime work? What are the working hours?

a. This work will need to be completed during the summer break and during normal
business hours. Working outside of these hours will need to be approved by David
Kiblinger, Maintenance Supervisor.
14. Do you have drawings to show how many circuits there are so we know how many relays for the
controls we will have to install?
a. We currently do not have any drawings for this project. A site visit will be required to
determine the need for this project.
15. Are there drawings that include load demand, distances, obstructions, to/from points, etc. for the
additional Emergency Circuit listed in 11.1.13.1?
a. We currently do not have any drawings for this project. A site visit will be required to
determine the need for this project.
16. Is the contractor responsible for moving and replacing furniture or obstructions?
a. No. Facilities Services will make arrangements to move obstructions and clear the
workspace.
17. Are the fixtures for the new addition at North Fayette Elementary School on emergency battery
backup? Or is there a generator for the emergency circuit?
a. There is a generator but there is no emergency circuit.
18. For the North Fayette Elementary School new addition, how far are the runs for the emergency
circuit? And how many lights are there to be connected to the new emergency circuit?
a. A site visit will be required to determine the need for this project.
19. Can you confirm you are looking for tunable white troffers from a switch on the wall or color
selectable on the fixture? Tunable white more than doubles the cost of a standard color selectable
fixture.
a. Controls will need to be on the fixtures.
20. Is there an engineer for this job that could provide E-drawings if they’re available?
a. There are no engineer drawings for this project.
21. Can Cooper Controls provide equals to work with the Cooper fixtures preferred on the RFQ.? We
can provide Cooper Controls in lieu of the specified products that provide the exact same
functionality. Specs can be provided if needed.
a. We are not currently accepting any alternatives for the controls or switches.
22. Approximately what height are the ceilings for the lights replacement?
a. A site visit will be required to obtain this information.
