Request for Bids - Demolition of 1501 Broadway in Paducah

The City of Paducah is accepting sealed bids for – Demolition of 1501 Broadway. Bids will be received at the Paducah City Clerk’s office on or before 2:00pm local prevailing time, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at which time will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Commission Chambers.

There will be one contract for the related work. The work generally consists of complete demolition and disposal of the referenced multi-story building and restoration of grounds. Per PVA records the building is circa 1919 and includes partial basements, one, two and three story areas. The ground level footprint covers approximately 13,320 square feet and total building volume is approximately 346,470 cubic feet. Basic construction consists of concrete foundations and floors with exterior brick/clay tile walls and interior clay tile walls. The roof system if wood frames. The aforementioned properties are scheduled for demolition within 45 days of contract execution.

  • Gardner Engineering & Consulting PLLC, 1030 Burlew Blvd., Bldg. 2B, Owensboro, KY

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained in person from the City of Paducah (Mr. Greg Cherry, Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention) or via email from the engineering consultant Gardner Engineering & Consulting PLLC ( kelly gardnerec.com ).

Requirements to bid include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • City Business License
  • Liability Insurance: $1,000,000 minimum
  • Workmen’s Compensation Insurance: $300,000 minimum
  • Qualified Past Experience successfully performing work of similar size, scope and nature within the past three (3) years. Include with your bid documentation and references (Project Name, date of work, client contact name and phone number) of said qualified past experience.
  • Refer to the Contract Documents for additional requirements.

The City of Paducah reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.

Each BIDDER must deposit, with their bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.

There will be a mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting for the Project at the site on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 9:30am local prevailing time. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 90 days after the actual date of opening thereof.
