Fire Department Remodel/Addition

The City of Newport Fire Department is accepting sealed bids for a remodeling project for a kitchen and the addition of a new locker room.

If you have any questions about the bid specifications or want to inspect the project site, please call Chief Peluso at 859-292-3647.

All sealed bids shall be delivered to City Clerk Tiffany Myers, 998 Monmouth St., Newport, KY 41071, before 10:00 a.m. local time on Monday, October 23, 2023, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids shall be in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Fire Department Remodeling Project” in the bottom left corner. The City of Newport is not responsible for the premature opening of or failure to open a sealed bid that is not properly addressed or identified. All information on the bid form shall be typed, written, or printed in ink. Please do not use whiteout or correction tape on the bid form. Doing so may result in the rejection of the bid.

The City of Newport reserves the right to reject all bids and waive all formalities in the award of the bid.

Scope of Addition of new locker room/restroom- Attached layout and existing blueprint
1.        Removal of existing pantry and three pantry closets
2.        Removal of existing door and relocate to side wall.
3.        Removal and replacement of ceiling tiles as needed.
4.        Relocation of electrical outlets/ switches/fire alarm strobes and any other electrical needs
5.        Installation of lighting where needed.
6.        Installation of ventilation
7.        Installation of one toilet and stall
8.        Installation of a double sink
9.        Installation of a single shower
10.        Installation and repair to any existing or new plumbing (existing OIC Bathroom Toilet)
11.        Installation of floor drain
12.        Installation of floor finishings
13.        Installation of mirror and other fixtures
Kitchen remodel- Attached layouts
1.        Removal of existing cabinets upper and lower
2.        Removal of existing countertops
3.        Removal and replace needed ceiling tiles.
4.        Paint existing ceiling grid
5.        Replace all damaged drywall, studs, and any other damage found under existing finishes.
6.        Replace existing plumbing where necessary.
7.        Installation of new electrical outlets in appropriate locations
8.        Installation of new flooring*
9.        Installation of three full-length cabinets
10.        Installation of new cabinetry
11.        Installation of deep well sink and fixtures.
12.        Installation new under-counter dishwasher
13.        Installation of new industrial refrigerator*
