The City of Attleboro Water Department shall receive General Bids at the Attleboro City Hall, Capital Projects Office, 77 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703 for Construction of the Bishop Street Water Main Replacement Project, until 11:00 AM prevailing time, Friday, April 26, 2024, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted. Bid award will be subject to funding by municipal council.
The Work of this Contract generally consists of furnishing and installing approximately 4,700 LF of 12-inch diameter ductile iron water main and associated service connections, valves, fittings, hydrants, and appurtenances along Bishop Street from Park Street to Pike Street. Temporary bypass piping shall be used along the entire project route, where the new water main will replace the existing cast iron water main. Where removed, the existing cast iron water main must be properly disposed of off-site. All locations shall be restored to equal or better condition including pavement, sidewalk and curbing restoration, and loam and seed.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount and in the form described in the Instructions to Bidders. A Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price will be required in the form described in the Instructions to Bidders.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days (Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded) after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project.
If the bidder views/obtains the plans and specifications from a source other than those noted in this Advertisement for Bids, the accuracy and/or completeness of the bid documents cannot be guaranteed and the bidder assumes the responsibility for obtaining any additional information regarding the project, including addenda, that may be required for bidding. Failure to acknowledge addenda issued during bidding shall designate a bid as non-responsive. The City of Attleboro reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the City.
