Scope of Request for Qualifications
1
Greenville County Schools is soliciting full service architectural and engineering
design services for a new Culinary Arts Center addition at the existing M.T.
Anderson Support Center; 100 Blassingame Road; Greenville, SC 29605.
The intent is to award an Architectural firm a contract at the beginning of July
2024. Construction is targeted to start in March of 2025 and be substantially
complete by April of 2026 so that the facility can open for training in May of 2026.
Construction of the new building will be accomplished via the Construction
Manager at Risk delivery method with a CM@R firm engaged after schematic
level drawings.
The anticipated 19,000 (+/-) square foot, one-story training facility will be
constructed adjacent to (and attached to) the existing MT Anderson Support
Center. The portion to be developed is presently a combination of green space and
sidewalk access areas with gently sloped terrain. Work will also include limited
interior renovations required to facilitate the connectivity of the addition. Entry to
the site is available via Blassingame Road.
GCS maintains a written design guide for its facilities and expects that the facility
will be designed in accordance with all applicable codes and the guide while taking
into consideration the unique educational nature of the facility and best practices
for sustainability.
