Amendment #1

Vendor shall acknowledge receipt of this amendment by signing in the appropriate space on the Acknowledgement of Amendment Form in the original solicitation document (Page 44).

Failure to acknowledge the amendment shall deem a proposal as non-responsive.

1. Timely questions have been received. Please find the questions and answers below:

Q1. Page 27 of 54, #4 Work Location:  States there are 2 officers on the same shift.  Are the officers expected to patrol together or are they in separate patrol vehicles?

A1. They are expected to patrol separately in patrol vehicles.

Q2. Page 28 of 54, #7 Contractors Responsibilities:  States that “all security personnel of the security company must be UNARMED” to prevent an armed security officer from possibly showing up in the when backup may be needed by the Contractor’s officer on duty for the District contract.  It states that the company must only assigned unarmed guards to the District.  Is the intent is that every officer employed by the contractor (regardless of contract or location) must be unarmed, and that the company does not employ any armed personnel on any of its other contracts?  Is this the intent of this sentence?  Or is the intent of this paragraph as the final sentence states, that it is OK for the contractor to hire armed personnel on other contracts, it just must only assign unarmed to the District contract?   Please clarify.

A2. The District contract is for UNARMED officers/personnel only. Your company/corporation/firm may hold other contracts, the District is not indicating all of your other contracts remain UNARMED. Only UNARMED personnel shall be utilized under this contract with the Phoenix Union High School District.

2. The location for proposal submittal has not changed, however, be aware that the site has ongoing construction activity, the District is not responsible for delays:

3. Proposals should only be submitted via Hand-Delivery, Federal Express, UPS, or USPS. Proposal Responses submitted by any other means run the risk of being late and not considered. Emailed proposals cannot be accepted.
