Questions and Answers:
1. Question: What is your over-riding goal:
*to be aligned with both NGSS and your Scope and Sequence so that the after
school ELOP program is aligning with in-school learning?
OR
*to be focused on Space and Geography?
Answer: The goal is not to be aligned with in-school learning.
2. Question: If your priority is NGSS aligned materials by grade that also align with your
Scope & Sequence, please confirm that your preference would be to cover Space and
Geography as NGSS aligned per grade and other themes that are NGSS aligned for
grades that are covering other topics?
Answer: The District is not asking that they be aligned with the scope and sequence.
3. Question: If your priority is to be focused on Space and Geography so that all ELOP
afterschool students are engaging with the same themes at the same time, would you
be open to scaffolding up NGSS PEs introduced at earlier grades/ introducing PEs that
they will be taught in future grades?
Answer: No, that is not the desire of the District.
4. Question: Is there a reason why you have ordered the units the way you have done so?
Would it be equally acceptable to deliver the same materials (themed units) in a
different order?
Answer: No. Please provide in the order requested within the RFP.
5. Question: Will this RFP be awarded to one single or multiple vendor(s)?
Answer: It is the District’s intent to award the entire contract to one vendor. However,
the District reserves the right to award to multiple vendors to meet the needs of the RFP
6. Question: What if we cannot submit a product/kit for one of the specific topics? (i.e.
Anthropology or Ecology)
Answer: These are suggested topics and the District expects a replacement that follows
the NGSS standards.
7. Question: We do not see NGSS standards that align with Geography. Can the
committee give some insight to what they want for Geography? Did the committee
mean Geology?
Answer: MSESS2-Earth Systems. We meant geography because it deals with landforms,
but if they would like to include geology, they can. How earth has evolved which can
include geology.

8. Question: Can a grade level kit extend to multiple Units? (i.e. Unit 1 and Unit 2)
Answer: Yes, as long as it meets the lesson requirements and there are enough
materials.
9. Question: I am working on a proposal for RFP #24-04-09 for Afterschool Science
Programs and had a question about the table on page 10:
Is this table an example of the format desired, or a description of the concepts desired?
In other words, are all grades starting Year 1 with three units of Space, followed by
three units of Geography, etc?
Answer: These are the concepts desired by unit/year.
