Application at City Parks / Facilities, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications
contained in these documents.

Herbicide/Weed Abatement and Fertilizer Application at City Parks/Facilities
Bids for Herbicide/Weed Abatement and Fertilizer Application at City Parks/Facilities, will
be received by the City of Durango until 3:00 PM (Local Time) on January 25, 2024. The City
of Durango invites interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of providing the required
service to submit bids.
Bids must be submitted via Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing www.bidnetdirect.com/colorado. It is
the sole responsibility of the bidder to see that the proposal is received before the submission
deadline. Late proposals will not be considered.

1. INVITATION
The City of Durango invites interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of
providing the required service to submit bids for application of spray herbicide and
turf fertilizer at specified City parks and facilities.
This bid shall be awarded on an "All or None" basis.
The City of Durango is committed to purchasing environmentally preferable and
recycled products. Vendors are encouraged to provide bids on products with
recycled content or which meet criteria for environmentally preferable products
wherever such products meet the performance criteria specified in bid documents.
The City may accept a bid which is not the lowest bid if (1) the lowest bid includes
a non-recycled product and (2) a recycled content product meets the performance
criteria specified, or (3) a bid other than the lowest bid meets the criteria for
environmentally preferable products or services, or (4) a cost analysis conducted
over the life and disposal of the product reveals lower total costs than are reflected
in sort-term analysis.
1I. SCOPE OF WORK
The bid shall remain firm for the Contract Period. Contract shall start on April 1,
2024, and terminate November 15, 2024. The City may elect to renew this contract
for five additional one-year periods (Years 2-5) contingent upon satisfactory
performance and available funding. All of the contract terms, including bid price
(except for levels of service changes) shall remain the same for the renewal period.
Weed Control:
Treatment shall be engineered so as to prevent weed seed production, vegetative
root spread and cause plant mortality by using labeled herbicide rates and optimum
treatment timing. Targeted vegetation shall include all broadleaf weeds found in
turf.

Contractors must be certified commercial herbicide applicators, duly licensed by the Colorado Department of
Agriculture. Certified applicator to be on site anytime product is being applied.
Contractor agrees that they will comply with all regulations set by the E.P.A. (Environmental Protection
Agency) and Colorado Department of Agriculture with regard to protection of citizens and employees during
application and handling of herbicides and fertilizers listed on the attached bid form.
Contractor shall install warning flags at all sites prior to application and remove flagging after time as
recommended by product manufacturer.
Contractors must fill out the attached form listing herbicides and rates proposed in this project.
Successful bidder agrees to provide service to insure a minimum 90% weed mortality rate. Contractor agrees to
re-apply herbicide, at no charge to the City of Durango, to those areas that do not meet this standard.
Fertilizer Application:
Spring fertilizer application shall include a balanced fertilizer for early season growth and color, minimum
Nitrogen application of no less than 1lb per 1000sq/ft
Fall fertilizer application shall include a balanced fertilizer to help with root growth and development, with a
minimum Nitrogen application of no less than 1lb per 1000sq/ft to help protect the root system through winter
and aid in the following springs green-up.
Contractor to provide product data for spring and fall applications for review and approval by City staff prior to
installation. Contractor shall provide all Safety Data Sheets for products to be installed.
