Safe Routes to School Phase I Project

The City of Cortez, Colorado, is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified engineering firms to provide design, surveying, and environmental services for a CDOT-funded City of Cortez project. Submittals will be emailed to City of Cortez Staff and are due by 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, MDT.
The project includes surveying, designing, and obtaining clearances for the construction of 5’ sidewalks, ADA/PROWAG-compliant curb ramps, radar feed-back signs, crosswalks, and signage additions in the general area of Mesa Elementary School and the Montezuma-Cortez Middle School within the Cortez City limits.
The City of Cortez has committed to a project design that is fully in agreement with the Safe Routes to School philosophy. This project will be designed and constructed to meet ADA, AASHTO, and MUTCD requirements and will be overseen by CDOT. Approximate start date is June 3, 2024, with design completion date by October 31, 2024.
This federally-funded project has a Design DBE Goal of 0%. The engineering consultant can commit to a DBE goal of their choosing and will be required to use B2Gnow system for payment reporting. Federal prevailing wage requirements and reporting will apply to this project.
