2024 PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT (PW #24-02-SD)
INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids for furnishing the following to the City of Cortez, Colorado, will be received at the office of the Public Works Director, City Service Center, 110 West Progress Circle, Cortez, CO 81321, until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read.
This project consists of drainage and hardscape new construction: Work at Mesa Elementary will replace an existing culvert; build an 8’ concrete multiuse pathway; replace curb/gutter; and remove/replace signage. Work at Kemper Elementary will install new storm drain drop inlets on Adams St. and Montezuma Ave. that tie into an existing storm drain; remove/raise/replace curb and gutter; and HMA patching. St. between Beech and Ash will re-grade dirt roads with reverse crown profiles to contain storm water runoff and reduce flooding of adjacent residences. All locations will include traffic control, SWPP/erosion control, and utility locates.
Bid documents, including drawings and specifications, can be examined at the City Service Center, Department of Public Works. A non-refundable fee of $100 will be charged for bid documents, delivery shall be either electronic (email pdf) or hard copy.
NOTE: There will be a MANDATORY Pre-Bid meeting on March 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the City Service Center. All bidders must have purchased the bid documents directly from the City of Cortez and be on the City’s Plan-holders’ List in order to bid on this project.
Bids shall be submitted in writing on the documents provided and signed by the bidder or its duly- authorized agent. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and marked on the outside with “Bid – 2024 Public Works Project (PW #24-02-SD) – City of Cortez” and with the bidder’s name.
The City reserves the right to waive any formality or any informality in the process of awarding a bid. The City reserves the right to accept any bid, in whole or in part, and to reject any or all bids if it be deemed in the best interest of the City.
