Summit County Government (“County”) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for conditions assessment and
engineering evaluation services to provide improvement recommendations for an existing approximately 4,800-linear
foot section of the Dillon Dam Recreational Pathway (Recpath segment) between the Dillon Dam glory hole and Town
of Dillon boundary (Attachment 1). Summit County operates this Recpath segment under an intergovernmental
agreement with the Denver Water Board.
The condition of the existing Recpath segment does not meet current Summit County Road and Bridge standards due
to a lack of recovery zones and eroding slopes above the Recpath and below the Dillon Dam Road. Additionally, poor
drainage conditions exacerbate erosion and sedimentation across the Recpath segment surface. Given the Recpath’s
existing condition and high volume of use through much of the snow-free year, there is a need to improve the condition
of the segment and ensure its longevity to safely serve public users.
