WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY EXPANSION to 3.5 MGD

The Town of Braselton (Owner) will be requesting Statements of Qualifications from Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) organizations (Proposers) for the construction of the following Project, and for related pre-construction and procurement CMAR services:

Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion to 3.5 MGD

Owner will receive printed and electronic copies of Statements of Qualifications demonstrating the Proposer’s qualifications and ability to provide CMAR services and construct the Project at the Braselton Public Works Building located at 4986 Highway 53 in Braselton, Georgia until 4:00 p.m. on August 3, 2023. After that time, Owner will no longer accept Statements of Qualifications. See Requests for Qualifications for details on preparing and submitting the Statement of Qualifications.

CMAR services are to be provided under a single contract with two parts to the work. Part 1 will include utility relocation and intermediate grading and surcharging of the site. Part 2 will include construction of the remaining components of the plant expansion project. Fees will be established in four separate actions. Part 1A - Design, Part 1B - Construction, Part 2A – Design and Part 2B - Construction in connection with the project.

The CMAR Contract will include preconstruction services, subcontractor procurement, and construction services. The Project consists of, but is not limited to the following major elements:

Part 1 – Site preparation and earthwork required to grade the pad for the site, earthwork and grading required to surcharge the Phase 1 3.5 MGD oxidation ditch and clarifier area, and relocation of existing drainage, forcemains, water lines and power utilities.

Part 2 – Site preparation and earthwork required to remove the surcharge material from Part 1 and relocate it to the future Phase 2 7.0 MGD oxidation ditch and clarifier area, construction of Phase 1 3.5 MGD oxidation ditch, two 80 ft diameter clarifiers, RAS/WAS pumps and building, one 78 ft diameter digester, reuse pump station improvements, UV disinfection, new belt press and building, conversion of existing SBR basins to digesters, demolition of existing steel tank digester and SBR’s, associated piping, electrical and miscellaneous appurtenances.

OWNER anticipates that the CMAR’s Contract Price for Part 1 will be approximately $5,000,000, and the CMAR Contract Price for Part 2 will be approximately $20,000,000. The CMAR Contract for Part 1 has an expected start date of October 2, 2023 and duration for construction of Part 1 of 240 days. The CMAR Contract for Part 2 has an expected start date of April 2, 2024 and duration for construction of Part 2 of 540 days.
