Invitation for Bid: 6646
Proposal due date: April 26, 2024
Commodity: Paging/Communications Equipment &
Installation
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Please be advised that this document serves as Addendum #2 to IFB #6646Paging/Communications
Equipment & Installation for the 2022 Bond. The following is a statement from Guilford County Schools
(GCS) and questions asked by vendors. The answers were provided by GCS, please see
below.
Statement
After the walk-thru it was discussed that Guilford County Schools could consider the use of a cable
tray in the main corridors at Doris Hendson Newcomers School. It was also suggested that we use
single channel stick on raceway in the mobile units for cable pathways. Guilford County Schools
has further evaluated the suggestions and we wish to make the following changes to IFB # 6646:
Guilford County Schools will now require that a solid bottom cable tray be used in the two main
corridors of Doris Henderson Newcomers School. All data drops will travel in EMT over to the
closest cable tray for pathway to the MDF data rack. There will be two designated locations that the
vendor shall install multiple larger conduits to get from the corridor cable tray to the MDF room
cable tray and then down to the patch panels in the data rack.
Guilford County Schools will now require the use of Panduit single channel stick on raceway and
appropriate surface mount boxes and adaptors in the mobile units for cable pathways. The quantity
of cables will dictate the size of the raceway needed and it is the responsibility of the contractor to
know proper sizing. The use of all raceway adaptors shall be required.
