Work in the project includes service modifications for two buildings: Demolish the existing service wireways,
conductors, and the indoor 4,000 amp 208 volt main service switchboard in the Main Bldg. Disconnect the
existing 2,000 amp 208 volt main service to the Mini-Gym Bldg and connect to a new utility transformer. Utility
will remove two existing parallel 750 KVA transformers serving the Main Bldg and the concrete pads.
Demolish service conductors and main switchboard interior components. Coordinate with the utility and
provide new transformer pad, new service feeders from transformer to a new pad mounted exterior 3,000 amp
main breaker distribution panel and re-feed existing feeders. A new 3,000 amp distribution panel in NEMA 3R
enclosure for the Main Bldg is pre-purchased and furnished by Owner. Gear is located in Owner’s warehouse.
Assembly of the new gear will be required. Load, transport to site, unload gear for installation and assemble
on concrete pad. Provide new feeders from the new exterior panel to the indoor chiller and a 600 amp
subpanel in the Mechanical Room, to two remote subpanels (600 amp and 1200 amp). Existing underslab
feeders to the two remote subpanels will be reused and spliced to new feeders in the old switchgear enclosure
in the Electrical Room. Intercept underground feeders in the courtyard for two additional remote panels (800
amp and 1600 amp) and re-route the feeders from an existing underground vault to the new gear. Provide a
new feeder to an existing ATS in the Electrical Room.
Locate and avoid underground utilities. Cut and patch concrete walks and chain link fencing as required for
access. Construct reinforced concrete pad for new gear. All work under this contract is to be included in a
Single Prime contract to the successful bidder.
