Salem WTP Well Pump Stations 4 and 5
General Notice
The City of Salem, Virginia is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Salem WTP Well Pump Stations 4 and 5
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the office of the Purchasing Department located at City Hall, 114 North Broad Street, Salem, Virginia 24153 until Wednesday, 02/14/2024 by 3:00 PM local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:
Constructing wellhouses at existing previously-drilled/cased/capped wells and installing a 100 hp 900 gpm well pump and a 100 hp 1,200 gpm well pump each with variable frequency drives, associated piping, valves, meters and appurtenances, 8- inch and 16-inch transmission mains, and various site improvements for each pumping station.

Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
The City of Salem reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding.
No bid may be withdrawn after opening except for clerical errors, as set forth in Section 2.2-4330 of the Virginia Code. Bidder must give the City a notice in writing of the request to withdraw a bid within two (2) business days after conclusion of opening.
Bidders shall submit one (1) original, two (2) copies, and one electronic copy on a flash drive (Microsoft Word or PDF) of their bid in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside with the company’s name and “Attn: Purchasing Department – ITB # 2024-026 – Salem WTP Well Pump Stations 4 and 5”.

Pre-bid Conference
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Wednesday, 01/24/2024 at 10 AM at the Water Department Conference Room, 1400 Tidewater Street, Salem, VA.
