Description

1) This inspection and testing will include but is not limited to:

a) Annunciation equipment such as Field Transponders, Alarm Panels

b) Control & Field Peripherals such as Addressable Pull Stations(2- stage), Addressable smoke detectors, Addressable Duct Detectors, Control Module Contacts, Water-flow Switch Monitor Modules, Tamper Switch Monitor Modules, Phone Jacks or Warden Stations, Addressable Heat Detectors, Speakers, Horns and/or Strobes, Annunciation devices, press operations switches, line isolation modules and other peripherals and end of line devices.

2) Water based fire suppression system components such as fire pumps, hydrants, stand pipes as well as water spray fixed systems, foam-water sprinkler systems and foam-water spray systems, and dry pipe systems, depending on how each facility is equipped.

a) Sprinkler heads that need to be tested need to be submitted to a recognized laboratory

b) Hydrostatic testing from the external FDC to the check valve (Where equipped), as well as flow testing and pressure testing.

c) System monitoring devices such as Pressure, Tamper and Solenoid Devices.

3) These services are required by legislation for all facilities having life safety fire systems and all testing needs to be in compliance with the legislation. An inspection report for each facility, detailing the results of the inspection will be provided upon completion of the testing to satisfy the JHA and to maintain SHA’s Certificate of Occupancy.

a) Any deficiencies noted during the inspection will be communicated to SHA upon the completion of each inspection. With prior approval, the vendor may address the deficiencies while on site, or return to address depending on circumstances.

4) These Fire System and Sprinkler System Certifications services will provide SHA with a signed inspection certificate for each site referencing all particulars including:

a) device counts,

b) Inspection date

c) Deficiencies found, and repaired

d) Completion dates

e) Signatures of qualified personnel.

5) From the date of signing till the end of the calendar year of this Contract, the successful vendor will be available for fire system and sprinkler system support should it be required.

It is the intent, the resultant Inspection, Certification and Service contract resulting from the this RFP will automatically renew for a following term of two years unless SHA or the successful vendor gives the other written notice of the intent not to renew, 30 days prior to the end of the term.

The initial term of the Contract will be for three (3) years, with an option to extend the Term, for up to five (5) years.

The testing should be completed in between the months of May – September or state in the non-freezing months as when they test the systems they have to drain water out of the buildings/hydrants etc. and we don’t want the water to freeze and then cause a safety concern.

The below timeline is subject to change at the sole discretion of the SHA and changes will not be communicated to proponents. This timeline is meant to be a guideline for proponents.
