Question
It appears the focus on this RFP is for airway/anesthesia, though some assets listed have wider range of clinical use. Can it be confirmed the ‘estimated annual usage’ is reflective of airway/anesthesia; and the intended scope of the bid is focused on this clinical need?
Answer
Usage is based on reprocessing, so it is for all areas of the hospital. Any resultant contract that arises from this bid will be utilized for any area of UIHC that has a desire for disposable options.

Question
Are you looking or a system that is compatible with scopes from different specialties to include cystoscope,
ureteroscopes, etc?
Answer
Currently the Urology, GI, Children’s hospital, and OR departments utilize reusable cystoscopes, ureteroscopes, and others. As such, we would be willing to look at options that have compatibility with these scopes, but it is not a required specification.

Question
Regarding the capital acquisition, would you prefer a lease payment option over multiple years? If so, what
is your preferred time frame?
Answer
The University is interested in all available options for capital equipment including (though not limited to) leasing as well as outright purchase. Of particular interest is a placement agreement based on maintaining an agreed-upon level of disposable purchases in return for capital being placed free of charge. If your company is offering a lease
agreement, it is the University’s preference for the lease payments to stretch over the life of the contract (5 years), with a non-obsolescence clause allowing for replacement of outdated equipment. For outright purchase, it is our preference for the capital expenditure to be folded into the cost of disposables, though we are open to other options as well.

Standardization is optimal but depending on the bid responses and the input from the committee, an award to multiple vendors able to meet our needs will also be considered.
